█ PERMISSIONS.

OUT OF CHARACTER
BACKTAGGING— Always happy to backtag! As a rule I do my best to keep threads going as long I can, but owing to things like stamina / RL interference / thread momentum just petering out sometimes, feel free to nudge me if ever I've slowed down on a thread you'd like to continue.

FOURTHWALLING— If they would know of the Franklin Expedition and/or John Irving himself from history, that's perfectly fine! But I would prefer no recognition concerning The Terror canon itself.

THREADJACKING— As long as the other parties involved are fine with it, so am I!

WRITING PREFERENCES— I generally will default to brackets but am perfectly fine with either brackets or prose, and happy to match style! Also: Irving is British and I am not, so while I will be doing my best to reflect UK grammar/spelling whenever appropriate, this will likely only apply in-character, and shouldn't be expected to also carry to narrative (brackets/prose) text as well.

SENSITIVE SUBJECTS— Nothing specific comes to mind in general for me, but this can be determined/discussed more specifically on a case-by-case basis depending on the canons (/CR) involved. Offhand there is no subject matter that is across the board off-limits to me, however my comfort levels for RPing certain content may vary depending on who I'm writing with or where.

SHIPPING / SMUT— Happy to write things out or fade-to-black as preferred! Shipping... is more complicated, but for simplicity's sake I'll just say I'm open to both shipping with castmates and/or crosscanon.
IN-CHARACTER
SPOILERS— By default it is generally safe to assume that threading with Irving may involve series spoilers up to episode 7; if you would prefer I avoid such in my tags please let me know.

PHYSICAL CONTACT— I'm fine with it, although Irving is... less fine with it. He'll grudgingly tolerate certain kinds of appropriate physical affection from colleagues and peers, but anything more casual (hugs, for example) he'll flinch from at best.

ROMANCE— Always open to discussion and/or development in this direction, although bear in mind it will not be easy with Irving, King of Repression™.

    SEXUAL CONTACT— See above!

CONFLICT— I'm absolutely fine with other characters badmouthing, arguing with, kidnapping(?!) Irving or anything else that could lead to or result in IC conflict between characters. Please note that if I get the sense there is more OOC motivation to the conflict than IC I may request we terminate that CR.

VIOLENCE— Ask first, please! But generally I'm totally fine with this and happy to discuss/plot for it.

OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS / TRIGGERS— Offensive/triggering subjects which may come up while threading with Irving include canon-typical Victorian sensibilities and bigotries, particularly regarding imperialism, racism, homophobia, cannibalism, illness, and similar; Irving specifically is very religious, and displays internalized homophobia in a verbal lecture to another character. Most if not all of these things can be written around if you'd prefer not to engage with them in threads with Irving, but please let me know if you have any specific boundaries.

POWERS— Ask first, please! But generally I'm totally fine with this and happy to discuss/plot for it.
CONTENT WARNINGS
The Terror is an AMC historical fiction mini-series, based on the real Franklin Expedition -- as well as the many mysteries and unknowns surrounding it -- with a supernatural horror twist. The canon frequently deals with and depicts mature, potentially disturbing themes and content, to include: period-typical bigotry such as homophobia and racism; violence; death; murder; cannibalism; dismemberment / mutilation; starvation / disease; general body horror; overarching themes of British imperialism; spooky scary polar bear spirit monsters; and potentially more. Many of these themes may or may not come up when threading with Irving, but please proceed with necessary caution, or opt-out below if you prefer not to thread with him at all. ©
